Susan is a leading sport dietitian with over 15 years experience providing nutrition support to elite and aspiring athletes and teams at the provincial, national and professional level. She complements her nutritional expertise with a counselling background, having previously worked as a senior nutrition counsellor in a highly specialized eating disorders program. Susan graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, with a final year specialization in sport nutrition. She has a Diploma in Sport Nutrition awarded by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and is a level 2 certified anthropometrist with the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK). She is a member in good standing of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC).Recently, her research has been featured in Current Sport Medicine Reports (2016) and Frontiers in Nutrition (2020). Currently, Susan is in the role of Nutrition Lead with the Canadian Sport Institute (CSI) Pacific, where she has been supporting athletes for over four Olympic cycles. Her primary sports have been Rowing Canada – Aviron, the national women’s rugby 7’s program, Triathlon Canada, and Swimming Canada – Natation. She has supported athletes, coaches, and teams at national and world championships, as well as at the Olympic Games. Recognized as a team builder with an exceptional ability to connect with athletes and coaches, Susan is passionate about helping athletes achieve their best. She is committed to the promotion of sport excellence via leading edge nutrition throughout all aspects of health, training and competition.
