Wang Shao-ing leads a multidisciplinary team under the Safe Sport Commission (Singapore) that covers policymaking, training and case management under the national framework for safeguarding in sport – the Safe Sport Programme. Shao was a legal practitioner before she turned her attention to teaching Media Law and Ethics at the Singapore Polytechnic, a role she still enjoys on an adjunct basis today. She is actively involved in disciplinary matters for rugby and has previously been appointed to the Olympics and the Rugby World Cup in her role as a World Rugby Judicial Officer. The former captain and head coach of the Singapore national women’s rugby team has served on various committees in the sport’s governing bodies in Singapore, Asia and internationally. Shao is also a licenced Word Rugby Coach Educator and continues to coach at the community level.
