Gregory Haff is the Professor of Strength and Conditioning at Edith Cowan University. He is the author of the “Scientific Foundations and Practical Applications of Periodization” and the co-editor of the “NSCA’s Essentials of Strength and Conditioning” textbooks. He is a Past President of the NSCA, an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Distinction (C.S.C.S.*D), a UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach, and an accredited Level 2 ASCA Strength and Conditioning Coach. He is a Level 3 Weightlifting Coach in both Australia and the United States. His research focuses on methodologies for testing, monitoring, and programming resistance training interventions, as well as concepts related to periodization and training theory. Professor Haff was awarded the NSCA’s Impact Award in 2021 in recognition of the impact of his research, teaching and service to the strength and conditioning profession. Additionally, in 2014 the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association recognized him as the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year-Education and Research for the impact of his work. In 2011, he was the NSCA’s William J. Kraemer Sport Scientist of the Year Award Winner.
