Dr Christine Rosenbloom, PhD, RDN, FAND, is president of Chris Rosenbloom Food and Nutrition Services, LLC (www.chrisrosenbloom.com) and nutrition professor emerita at Georgia State University. She is the author of the consumer book (with Dr. Bob Murray), Food & Fitness After 50. Dr. Rosenbloom held various teaching and administrative positions at Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA, USA), including department chair and associate dean. She was the sports dietitian for the Georgia Tech Athletic Association and for the Georgia State athletes. She is the editor-in-chief of two editions of Sports Nutrition: A Practice Manual for Professionals and served as assistant editor for the 6th edition released in 2017. Her research focus was applied sports nutrition and for 10 years wrote a sports nutrition column for Nutrition Today. She has authored many book chapters on sports nutrition and is a frequent speaker on the topic. She received her undergraduate degree from Kent State University (Ohio) and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Minnesota. Her doctorate was earned in sociology with a gerontology concentration from Georgia State University. Upon retirement from the university, she focused her writing and speaking on optimal aging through nutrition and physical activity. Her goal is to remain functionally fit enough to lift her suitcase in the overhead bin and pick up a 50-pound bag of dog food.
