Dr. Vernec is a primary sport medicine physician with extensive experience working with athletes of all levels including those in elite sports. He has been team physician for professional and national sport teams, including professional football (soccer), the Canadian national Athletics and Judo teams and was team physician at many international sport events including three Olympic Games. Alan served as the Medical Director/CMO at the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), from 2009 to 2025. He is passionate about sport and believes that all athletes should be able to engage in fair competition. His focus is on athletes with medical conditions and educating them and their physicians on how to navigate the rules of the Anti-Doping system.
