Anna Melin has been working as a clinical sports nutritionist since 1995. The first 15 years in Team Denmark specialized in prevention, early detection and treatment of low energy availability in athletes with or without eating disorders. Her research is mainly focused on the physiological consequences of low energy availability including reproductive function, metabolic adaptations and the impact on performance. After a PhD and post doc position at the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports at the University of Copenhagen, she is working as Associate Professor and Deputy Head of department at the Department of Sport Science at the Linnaeus University, Växjö/Kalmar, Sweden.
