Gregory Cox is a Fellow of Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA) and an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Currently, Greg is an Associate Professor and Co-Head of Program for Nutrition and Dietetics at Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia. He worked at the Australian Institute of Sport from 1998-2018, facilitating world class nutrition support to sports including Gymnastics, Boxing, Netball, Water Polo, Diving, Canoe, Triathlon and Surf Life Saving. He worked within the high performance team for Triathlon Australia for 20 years as the Nutrition Lead, while also fulfilling roles such as the sports science medicine co-ordinator and team manager. Greg also enjoyed the challenge as the Nutrition Lead for the Australian Olympic Committee for the 2016 Rio Olympics and has attended the Beijing and London Olympics as a support staff team member. His research interests include iron metabolism, post-exercise fluid intake recommendations, dietary intake habits of endurance athletes and dietary manipulations to enhance endurance exercise performance. He has published over 60 peer reviewed journal articles, 5 books including The Complete Guide to Food for Sports Performance, numerous book chapters and sports nutrition periodicals. He was the course co-ordinator for the 4-day SDA Sports Nutrition Course from 2005-2020 and currently sits on the SDA education committee after serving more than 10 years on the board. He has stayed competitive in endurance sports throughout his lifetime having won Australian and World age-group championships in Triathlon and Surf Life Saving. He spends as much time as possible with his family, in the surf or driving his 1971 Volkswagen Kombi.
