Barbara Wondrasch has been a Physiotherapist since 1996 and Sports Physiotherapist since 1999. Her clinical expertise is the area of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She clinically worked for more than 20 years in several hospitals in Austria. Additionally, she was founder and owner of a sports medicine center (Vienna Sports Medicine Center). There she was the leading Physical Therapist and she was the Team Physical Therapist of a Handball club and the Austrian Swimming National Team. In 2000 Barbara began to work in the research team called “Center for Joints and Cartilage” at the Medical University of Vienna. It was her responsibility to develop evidence-based rehabilitation programs after cartilage repair. From 2008-2010 she attended a Master program on “Evidence-based Physiotherapy” at the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna. After finishing the Master program she started her PhD studies at the Norwegian School for Sport Sciences in Oslo (Norway), which she finished in 2015. The title of her dissertation was “Rehabilitation for patient with knee articular cartilage lesions”. She is currently working as a researcher and lecturer at the St. Poelten University for Applied Sciences in Austria.
