Doug Campbell has an established and specialist Sports Medicine & Performance practice in hand & wrist problems and has been a Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon in Leeds, UK since 1998. He has been a Visiting Orthopaedic Professor in the USA, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, Hong Kong and to the Royal Society of Medicine in London. In 2014, he was invited to deliver the Richard J Smith Oration at Harvard University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 2016 and a Foundation Fellowship of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2010. His research interests include movement patterns in the wrist, micro surface science and 3D bone mapping of the distal radius. He was awarded his Master of Surgery degree (ChM) from the University of Leeds in 2000 with the thesis ‘Post traumatic digital cold related symptoms’. He has been the Chairman of the AO Hand Expert Group in Switzerland since 2005. He has organized and chaired courses in Switzerland, Holland, South Africa, Dubai, South America and the USA and has lectured in more than 20 countries.
