Rod Whiteley is a Fellow of the Australian College of Sports Physiotherapists who graduated in the first cohort to be conferred specialist status by the Australian Physiotherapy Association in 2007. He was the chief examiner for the College from 2009 until 2012. His PhD was in the area of throwing injury, but since moving to before moving to Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital in Qatar where has worked since 2010, his clinical and research interests have shifted to muscle injury in general, with a specific focus on hamstring, groin, and calf injury. He has worked in high level Rugby League, Rugby Union, Baseball, Football, Handball, Track and Field, Swimming, and Volleyball. His current active areas of clinical and research focus are ACL injury, re-injury, and return to sport biomechanical and clinical testing.
