Entry Requirements
Applicants must submit all the required documents outlined below by the application deadline date. An application is not complete, and cannot be considered, until all supporting documents are received.
References:
- Two professional references using the reference form which can be downloaded directly from the application form
- One referee should be the applicant’s current or most recent employer/line manager/Human Resources Manager. This person can not be a colleague. If you are self-employed i.e. you have your own company or provide consultancy services, a reference should be provided by a manager or Human Resources representative from the organisation where you currently, or most recently, have provided your services.
- Where an applicant has worked/volunteered with children in the last 3 years, it is important that a reference is obtained from that employer/organisation in addition to the current or most recent employer/organisation.
NOTE: References will not be accepted from relatives or friends.
Letters:
- A motivational letter of intent from the candidate outlining the reasons for wishing to join this program
- If sponsored/supported by an organisation, a letter of support from the institution is beneficial in confirming their support in terms of time and access to technology to facilitate effective engagement
English competency:
The language of instruction will be English, and students whose native language is not English should provide evidence of competence in English, e.g. IELTS at 6 or above, GCSE or equivalent in English language. The following list contains the main English language qualifications which are acceptable pre-requisites for entry onto this Certificate Program. Other English Language Qualifications held by applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Program Directors or Academic Advisory Board when your application is complete and reviewed.
- English as first language or successful completion of High School and/or Degree Level Education in English language
- UK Based O-level, GCSE or Standard Grade English – Grade C or above
- International GCSE English as a Second Language – Grade C or above
- International Baccalaureate (IB) – Grade 4 minimum in English
- CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) – B2 (Upper Intermediate) or above
- Cambridge English Language Assessment with a minimum score of 160
- Duolingo with a minimum score of 105
- IELTS with a minimum score of Band 6
- TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 68
- TOEIC with a minimum overall score of 650
