Dan Baker was President of the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) from 2004 until 2021 and a member of the ASCA since its inception in 1991. He has the official designation of ASCA Level 3 and Master Coach of Elite Athlete Strength & Conditioning within the ASCA’s Professional Coach Accreditation Scheme (PCAS), the highest possible ranking within the ASCA that has been attained by only a handful of experienced strength & conditioning coaches. He has also been a member of the NSCA since 1987 and completed his CSCS in 1988. He has a PhD in sports science from Edith Cowan University (ECU), and is an Adjunct lecturer in the Masters of Strength & Conditioning program at ECU as well as previously at St. Marys University (London, UK). His Phd involved a number of studies upon strength, velocity and power in professional rugby league players and he has published over 40 peer-reviewed publications. He has worked with national league or international level athletes in the following sports ~ rugby league, rugby union, soccer, field hockey, netball, Olympic diving, cricket, MMA, track & field and power-lifting. While he actively worked full-time as a Strength & Conditioning Coach for more than 20-years, he currently works as an educator in Strength & Conditioning, lecturing in ASCA Level 1, 2 and 3 courses around the world, the ECU Masters’ program as well as his own education courses and workshops. He is a sought after conference speaker and has presented at numerous national conferences in the USA, UK, China, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, Spain, Portugal, Poland and also delivered educational lectures for various national sporting bodies around the world.
