Geneviève Masson is a performance dietitian at Canadian Sport Institute Pacific ( Whistler, BC, Canada) where she supports elite Canadian athletes in their quest to achieve their best performances. She has worked with many national teams, including many snowboard and freestyle ski disciplines, ski cross, soccer, softball, and wrestling. She also supports many provincial (British Columbia) teams, mostly in winter sports. After her master’s degree at Université Laval (Quebec City, QC, Canada) with an emphasis on the eating habits of endurance athletes, Geneviève pursued her enthusiasm for sports nutrition and completed the International Olympic Committee Sports Nutrition Diploma. Passionate about the outdoors, she likes to spend time trail running, cross-country skiing, biking and hiking in beautiful British Columbia with her husband and daughter. Following her passion for the outdoors, she created Gourmet Hiking (gourmethiking.com), an online resource to help hikers and backpackers eat nutritious and delicious food in the backcountry. Other relevant professional experience includes being a sports nutrition instructor at Langara College (Vancouver, BC, Canada), a clinical dietitian at an outpatient eating disorder clinic and a research assistant at Université Laval.
