Lenka Dienstbach-Wech is a World Rowing Council member. She has previously served on the Executive Committee and as Chair of the Athletes Commission. She is a member of the World Rowing safeguarding working group, who developed the safeguarding policy and procedures in Rowing and now is coordinating the education. Lenka is a former World Champion and has represented Germany at three Olympic Games: in Sydney, Athens and Beijing. She competed in the coxless pairs and the coxed eights. She also competed in coastal rowing and won two World Championship titles in the coxed four and the double. Lenka is currently a member of the IOC Medical Committee. In her professional life, Lenka is a medical doctor specialised in trauma and orthopaedic surgery. She works as a senior consultant in Frankfurt. She is part of the team doctor pool who is looking after the German Rowing team.
