Seung-min Ryu, OLY was an International Olympic Committee Member from 2016 to 2024, Olympian, and former Korean table tennis player. He competed in 4 Olympic Games, won gold in Athens 2004, bronze in Beijing 2008 and silver in London 2012. Seung-min was elected as member of the IOC Athletes’ Commission in Rio 2016 by his fellow athletes. Since then, he has been working in various IOC Commissions including, Sustainability and Legacy Commission, Olympic Education Commission, and Los Angeles 2028 Coordination Commission. In 2018, Seung-min was appointed as Chair of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Entourage Committee, member of Executive Board and Athletes Committee. Seung-min also actively engages in his sport, table tennis. He is the member of International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Executive Board and ex-President of Korea Table Tennis Association (KTTA), where he represented his fellow athletes on their welfare and rights. As an athlete representative, Seung-min wants to protect athletes and safeguard them from harassment and abuse.
