Mark is a Sport and Exercise Physician and the managing director of Axis Sports Medicine Specialists. He is the President of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians and it the Medical Director of New Zealand Football. He has been the doctor for the All Whites and Football Ferns (New Zealand Men’s and Women’s teams). He has attended three Olympic Games as a team doctor. Mark currently works with the New Zealand Breakers basketball team. He was formerly the Medical Director of the ITU World Championship Triathlon event and Medical Director at Netball NZ including being the team doctor for the Silver Ferns. He has also been lead Tournament Physician at past ASB Classic Men’s and Women’s Tennis Tournaments. Mark continues to be involved with Sports Medicine education contributing regularly as a guest speaker/lecturer at universities and sports medicine meetings around the country. He is a member of the FIFA Medical Committee and is the ‘Editor in Chief’ of the FIFA Medical Network. Mark’s research interests include football injuries, mental health and concussion and injury prevention. Mark has a passion for Football and played in various versions of the New Zealand National league. His claim to fame is that he is the shortest goalkeeper to ever participate in a FIFA Tournament.
